Thinking

Are you thinking about that trip you might take this summer?  The weather has been warmer and you are getting ready to think of what summer will be like.  Will you go on a short trip or on a long one?  If you are going to be driving your car, you might be thinking about what shape it is in and if you are going to drive, fly, go by plane or bus or what you will be doing.  If you are going by car, be sure you have a good tool kit38364 along in case you might need it.

At any rate, we are ready for summer to come and some warmer days without wind that threatens to blow us away when we go for a walk.  When the cold wind blows and makes those 60 degree days feel like 35 degree days, it is comforting to know that soon it will be warmer and we can enjoy the warmth even if we do not get to go on a trip.

Breakdown

12140There is no good time for a breakdown.  You may be in your car and it just stops.  You may be on the road to a special destination, and your car gives out on you.  Right now we worry about getting stuck in the snow somewhere, so we keep tool kits, warm clothes, blankets, etc. in our vehicles.  We make sure we have plenty of gas and we make sure everything is working all right to the best of our abilities.  We make absolutely sure our cell phones are charged up so we can call for help.

When the children or grandchildren are coming home from college for a weekend, a person can’t help but be concerned until they arrive at home.  We have asked them many times if they have everything they need and cautioned them to be careful.  We checked when we last saw their car to see if all the emergency items were there.  We are sure they didn’t remove them from the trunk.  We know they are intelligent.  We don’t want them to know we are worried.  So we pray and trust and worry until they get home.

Here they are again!  No breakdown!  No bad roads!  Everything is fine!  Praise the Lord!

Help!

121381What do you do when you have a need that you simply can’t meet.  Just crying out, “Help!” won’t fix it.  You need a tool kit.  In our house there are about five tool kits and multiple tools to fix any kind of need a tool will fix.  That is good when the people who know what to do with the tools are around.  That set me to thinking.  We would have been in a bad way several times had we not had the proper tool to fix something.  But what about other kinds of needs?  For the needs of a wound like a scraped knee, you need bandages and ointment.  For food that doesn’t taste right, you might just need salt in a shaker.  When you spill a terrible mess on the floor, you need a mop and a mop bucket.  When your  needs are spiritual, you need a Bible and prayer.   The answer to my question is be prepared.  Make a list. What need might you have that you are not prepared to meet?  You may not be able to take care of every need that will arise, but you will be closer than if you had not planned.

12139All at once I have a fascination with tool kits.  Mind you, I don’t even know what the tools are for or how to use them.  But have you noticed that there are kits of all kinds?  Just look around the web.  Notice in store when you shop.  If you know how to use the tools, you should be able to fix anything!

The weather is nicer now - at least for a few days.  I think we may be able to fix something that we have been waiting to fix until the weather got better.  I bought the 60 watt bulbs we need on the back porch.  We can get out the nice screw-driver set that my parents bought my husband.  That is really a neat set.  I can hold it and steady the ladder while my husband puts up the light.  What fun it would be to be able to use all the tools in one of those sets we have.  Anyway, if  you don’t mind, I will just look at them and dream for now.  Maybe someday I will know what that funny little wrench is for.  It is so cute, it must have a good use!

ohkogiftsandgadgets-toolkitsYou’re sitting in your car, pulled off to the side of the road and cursing your terrible luck. It’s the second time in a month something has gone wrong with your vehicle, and now the other motorists are just whizzing past. They’re blissfully unaware of your plight, and as you punch your hazard lights on and prepare to open the hood, you suddenly wish you had been better prepared for what just happened.

In fact, an auto emergency kit is practically indispensable for people who rely on cars as a constant mode of transportation. Cars feature so many moving parts that require constant maintenance; it’s really no wonder that something has gone awry. The most effective tool kits feature jumper cables, pliers, adhesive tape, screwdrivers and all of the other essentials that can get you off the shoulder and back in the driver’s seat.
